Over the last year, I’ve become pretty interested in tarot and tarot card decks. I’ve had “learn to read tarot cards” on my bucket list for as long as I can remember but I never really had any interaction or exposure with actual tarot readings until about January last year, when I found this really accurate tarot reader on YouTube. I have been pretty fascinated with it since then and have been trying to learn how to read tarot cards myself.

My Friend, Emma, gifted me my first two illustrated tarot card decks that I used to practise with when starting out, but I saw the decks that I got in this haul on the Queen of Cups Tarot YouTube channel during her readings and I really wanted to get them. They are The Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot by Melanie Marquis and The Druid Craft Tarot Deck by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm .
The illustrations in these tarot card decks are so beautiful. I also thought that the illustrations were more self-explanatory than other tarot decks for a new reader who is still learning. I found both of them on Amazon and ordered them as soon as I could. When I got them I was so excited to open them and start doing readings for family and friends. Below is The Druid Craft Tarot Deck by Phillip and Stephanie Carr- Gomm. This deck is illustrated by Will Worthington.
The images in this deck are extremely detailed and contain a lot of information which makes them easier to read and remember the meanings of. This deck also came with a pocket handbook with explanations for all the cards. This comes in handy when I get stuck. I think you can buy a version that has a full sized book too but it’s a bit more expensive.
The only thing I don’t like about the Druid Craft Tarot Deck is that the cards are sort of larger than I was expecting. It’s harder for me to shuffle this deck in my pretty small hands. I find I don’t reach for this deck as often as the other one I bought because of this. I like when the cards jump out instead of choosing them which is harder to do with this deck. That being said, I really do love the illustrations and find the cards very easy to interpret because of them.
The other deck I got is my favourite deck to date. I love this deck; The Modern Spellcaster’s Tarot by Melanie Marquis. It is illustrated by Scott Murphy.
This deck also comes with a full-sized handbook. It has lots of detailed information on the card meanings. It also has pages with potential spreads you can do.
I love using this deck so much. The quality of these cards are amazing. The size makes them very easy to shuffle with. There is also so much detail in them that I find them really easy to interpret compared with other illustrated tarot card decks.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you are looking to buy either of these illustrated tarot card decks you can get them on Amazon.
