Writer’s Block

If it hasn’t been obvious lately, I have been suffering from a severe case of writer’s block. There just seems to be a blockage in mind when it comes to the content that I want to write for this blog.

Writer's Block 1

Because I really don’t have a niche, I’ve been struggling to come up with topics to write about that I am truly inspired to make a blog post about. It’s weird how something that is supposed to be restricting you less can feel like it is restricting you more.

I literally tell myself, “you can write about anything….anything you want to”, but when I come up with something, I think, “well, that is so unrelated to X, the people who read my blog wouldn’t want to read that” but as well as that, there isn’t anything that I’m really being pulled to write about. If I really wanted to write about something, I would just take the knock in page views but there isn’t really anything inspiring me at the minute.

In some ways it feels like a waste of time to put in so much effort to write about so many topics that you guys mightn’t care about just because I kind of feel like it, but I also don’t want to force myself to write on one topic that I know you will love, forever more, and have no fun writing it.

I really need to figure out a way to bring some creativity back into my blog. Maybe I should do a blog challenge or something… I don’t know. Should I just post about my life? About a T-Shirt Haul? About my dog?? None of those things sound hella interesting.

But I’ve got to admit… as I sit here typing this post.. there definitely is something I enjoy about it. Maybe if I just posted more often there would be less pressure of what each blog post is about.

Does anyone else feel the same about their blog or hobby? Does everyone get to the stage where you have to work at it to make it fun again.

I didn’t realise I had agreed to a committed relationship with my blog. If I had then I have definitely haven’t been giving my blog enough attention. I’ve been a bad blog girlfriend. What even is this metaphor??

Anyway, I guess the point is… I haven’t forgot about you guys. I am still trying to write but something isn’t clicking at the minute. I hope something does soon because it shouldn’t be this difficult to do something you love (well not for this long anyway).

Maybe this should just be an outlet for me to talk about random crap like this even if it is only to one reader… my mom (Just kidding… my mom doesn’t read my blog :P)

Well I hope I figure it out soon. I just need to find a way to put more fun and creativity back into my blog because it feels like it has been missing for a while now.

Leave a comment below if you have any ideas on how I can make blogging more fun again or of what type of blog posts you like to read (the more topics the better), or even let me know if you’ve ever suffered from writer’s block before.

I hope you are having a great day and I’ll talk to you soon.
